Taylor Swift's debut album was released on October 24th, 2006. Most of the songs on this album were written while Taylor was in high school, specifically freshman year. This album spent 24 weeks at number one on the Top Country Albums and was the longest charting album of the 2000s on the Billboard 200. Taylor was only 16 when she released this album. "Tim McGraw" was Taylor's first single and she wrote it when she was only 14 years old. She also co-wrote every song on the album. "Teardrops on my Guitar" was based on Taylor's real life crush, Drew. She wrote the song after realizing her feelings were not mutual.
